Alp Pointing-Device Program Appears on Taskbar

Greetings,

When I boot my Fujitsu Lifebook N3010, the Alps pointing-
device driver appears on my taskbar as an active task.
I've only had this laptop for a few weeks and I'm not
sure when the problem first occurred. Does anyone know
how to prevent this driver program from appearing on the
taskbar?
