Hi Guys,
I just finished building my new dream Pc with an ASUS P5AD2-E Premium.
This card has WiFi ability that I would like to use to connect my
laptop to my DSL modem, and also to create a wireless network under XP
Pro.
I managed to connect the 2 computers seting up my desktop as AP and
using WEP 128. Now whenever I start my laptop, it does automatically
connect to the WiFi connection.
I have also allowed ICS and specified that my DSL modem could be used
to access the internet from other users. My DSL modem is not a router
but I believe it could be done without one.
I have also setup a home network between the 2 computers. I can browse
files and exchange them whenver my firewalls are switched off.
My first question would be directed to anyone who could tell me if I
could set up the firewall (Zone Alarm) in order to let it run while
being conected.
Also, I don't manage to connect to the internet from my laptop using
the wireless network. Do I need to create specific connection settings
under IE?
The third and last question would be using WiFi to play network games
with the 2 PCs. If I am to bridge the WiFi connection and the LAN
connection, will I be able to play in between the 2 computers if I
select the LAN settings under any game?
