Evening again,

In windows 2003 Server Ent Edition do I have to tick the box in Properties,
Remote, Allow Other Users to Connect to your server when I got Terminal
Server installed, because mine works only when I got that box ticked.

Thank you.

That option enables Remote Administration. Shouldn't be needed if you
have installed Terminal Services (as Application Server for multiple
users). Have you checked your membership in the Remote Desktop Users
group? Which account are you using? What error message do you get
when you try to connect and the RD box is not ticked?

This is the message that I get:

"The client could not connect to the remote computer. Remote connections
might not be enabled or the computer might be to busy to accept new
connection. It is also possible that network problems are preventing your
connection. Please try connecting again later. If the problem continues to
occur, contact your administrator."

Only when I select the Allow others to remotely connect to your computer box
in Remote property I can connect, but for this to work there is no need for
TS to be installed.

I have added all the users to Remote something local group on the TS.

Thanks Vera.

Strange. Is there anything in the EventLog on the TS? Can you
check if the rdp-tcp connection is enabled?
Do you see the default 2 rdp listeners in Connection Manager?
Have you tried to uninstall TS, reboot and re-install it again?

Hi again Vera,

There is nothing in the EventLog regarding my issues on the TS, just had a
go of installing Connection Manager but because I'm working from home it
asked me for CD and my company is closed over weekend so I will let you know
about this on Monday.

I think you should know this, I haven't installed Licensing
server untill today on the same PC as TS and still no luck. Should I be
able
to connect to TS without TL Server for 120 days. Everything is set up same
way as it was on Windows 2000 box and TS 4.0. Licensing server is working ok
now but still no connection,.

Sorry about this Vera.

Thank you.

Lazo,

It is me who should say "Sorry"! It seems that I was completely
mistaken. There's a similar post in
microsoft.public.windows.terminal_services right now, subject
"Urgent help needed on Windows 2003 TS". Rob Leitman from
Microsoft answered that it is indeed necessary to tick the box
"Allow others to remotely connect", even if you install the full
Terminal Services.

Hi Vera,

Thanks very much :-) I spent day and night trying to resolve this issue.

Don't worry no need to apologies, actually I sent that post about "Urgent
help..." from a different account.

Thanks for your help up to now I got enough tips and solutions from your
post up to now and now doubt I will be posting more questions now that I'm
actually setting up TS in my organization.

Kind regards,

Lazo
