I have written my own web-sites advertising my villa in Florida but now want
to write a new site which allows users to have a username and password so
that they can add images and descrition of their villas them selves.

Have no idea where to start, as am totally new to this.

Any help about how I proceed will be appreciated.

Requires hand coding server side code w/ a DB and File Upload function
Not a task for a non programmer

You can probably do that with a Wiki. Installation can be a bit tricky for
the application, but nowadays a lot of hosts provided easy control panel
installation of Wikis.

You could do this with a portal/forum...which one depends on what your
server supports PHP/MySQL or ASP/Access/MSsql.
There are several good (and free) portal/forum packages out there but you
need to know what your server supports first.

And,,,you could tie it in with your FP web by putting it in a subweb (if
your server allows for subwebs).

This would be much easier (but not totally easy for a newbie) than trying to
code it yourself.

Here's an example: http://www.soopportal.org this one is ASP/Access or
MSsql - I've used this one and it's cool, but there are lots of others.
