Hi all,

I would like to ask how can I set a user account (that don't have admin
right) to add a printer driver by themselves in windows xp.

Thanks

If it's a network printer, they can do it themselves. If it's a local
printer, they can't....although you haven't mentioned whether it's Home or
Pro (they're different in many ways). I don't think you can allow only this
feature via GP.

That said, why would you want users installing anything? This can't be a
frequent requirement ...just install stuff as the admin when it's needed.

The only exception to this is if the user is a laptop user and needs to
install stuff while not on the network. I generally grant my laptop users
local admin rights after giving them a stern talking to about the dangers.

Thank for your reply, yes, this is a laptop computer, becuase I don't want to
give them the admin right but allow them to add their local printer themselve.
