Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power

Is there a feature in XP that might turn off a USB printer to save
power? I am aware of the check box in my subject line, but I wasn't
sure which devices it applies to.

If it DOES turn off the printer, how long is it before Windows turns
it off?

(I have XP SP2 on a home computer)
