Some apps' help system is browser based with active X on local files. When
this help is accessed, IE gives the yellow strip warning about activeX, then
I have to right click and allow it.

How can I permenantly permit this particular activeX without lowering the
security when browing the web?

Hi,
The setting you're looking for is:
Internet Options> Advanced> Security> check "Allow active content to run in
files on My Computer ." That is, of course, a security compromise to some
degree.

Hope this helps,
