I wonder if somebody could help me out here?

In brief I need an image editing.

Below is a link to a scanned image, it's the inner sleeve of a CD in grayscale 8 bit.

Down the centre is a crease and staple marks. I'd like to get rid of those.

Reason being I intend to make a poster/pic of the image and so would like it seamless if possible.

I do have Photoshop CS5 64 bit loaded in Win 7 and Gimp in Linux Mint 8 but I only ever use them for basics, I'm afraid I've never taken the time to learn some of the finer points.

If somebody could help me out here I'd be eternally grateful

Strictly Personal album sleeve

Right click and select 'Save target As' or click to open (it's big).

This any good? Did this on Picnik (now part of Picasa). There's also a Clone Tool on Irfanview. Did this in 5 minutes but I'm sure it could be improved by spending more time on it.

Well thankee nivrip, the edit looks good but my picture seems to have shrunk and gained a red border

Ok, that's just a grab taken with the snipping tool, I'm wondering what the edited full size pic looks like when I zoom in on it? Or even just viewed full size.

I'm hoping to have this printed to about a metre or more wide when it's sorted then hang it on me living room wall to scare visitors.

Here it is after another 2 minutes editing. No red border and somewhat bigger.

Thanks all, for your efforts - tres apreciated

I now have an image I can use and I've seen a service online that makes canvas prints.

Cost differs from place to place but average is about fifty quid for around 40" x 24" (aprox 1.1M x 0.7M)

Was the file i posted above any good or good enough Flops?

I can spend a bit more time on it if needed, was only a quick go.

Not sure if this company will do what you are after, but I found a voucher for 30% off canvas prints at photobox so thought it may be worth mentioning

That was the one I decided to go with actually.

Which was before Nivrip posted his revised effort, for which I am grateful

Member Bad Haircut's result over at BBF was good too, have to say.

The image itself was quite pixellated so any quality editing would probably show up against the rest of the image.

I should play around with image editing software a little more, methinks.

Ian: Thanks for the link, have bookmarked, I'll see what deal I can get.

Called in at Staples today and asked how much they'd charge. Um, they be taking the Mick
