For some reason, all windows open fully maximized. Even little dialog
message boxes and etc. Is there a way to put it back from doing this? I
have Windows Professional XP SP2 and it's a fairly new install. Thank you!

Create a new test administrator account and check if the issue happens for a
new user also. Secondly using msconfig or autoruns, disable any non microsoft
components from startup and services, reboot and check teh behavior.
