I am trying to insert a wave file on my powerpoint presentation. However, the
wave file won't play. It plays fine by itself on Windows media player. I got
an error message on powerpoint "All wave devices that can ply files in the
current format are in use. Wait until a wave device is free, and then try
again.". I searched everywhere in MS help, and couldn't find a solution. Any
other suggestions? Thanks a lot!

Does the WAV play in the MCI Media Player? Go to Start/Run and type
mplay32.exe Does the WAV play there?

Regarding the specific error you're getting, though, it sounds almost as if
you need to update your sound card driver or something. You might check the
info on this error at http://tinyurl.com/4mbck

Hello, Echo. Thanks for your suggestion. The WAV plays fine on windows media
player by itself (version 9.0). I checked the sound card driver, and it's the
most current update I have, but still not play in Powerpoint 2002. Any other
ideas?

THANKS AGAIN!!

I think you didn't read my suggestion closely. It doesn't really matter that
the WAV plays on Windows Media Player. The acid test is the MCI Media
Player.
