Sound and Audio devices in my control panel indicates
that I have no sound hardware installed.
I have a valid sound card and my speakers are plugged in.

I need to find out how to get the system to recognize
that my speakers are installed.

No advice is too small. Please help!!!!

Greg

I almost killed myself over same problem. nothing in MS info could be
found. ended up uninstalling current audio stuff (aka AC 97) and doing a
partial disc reinstall to change up things. lost minimal info but finally
got sound. it appears it was a conflict between my sound card and windows
plug and play stuff. good luck.
