I have an XP machine that has an odd problem. When I click on Start, the
Start Menu appears and when I go into All Programs, every single sub-menu is
empty. For example, if I go to All Programs | Microsoft Office, instead of
listing Word 2003, Excel 2003, etc., it is simply blank. The programs are
still on the machine and everything is working ok, but it is just odd that
the shortcuts for them on the Start Menu have disappeared. How can I fix
this. I tried a System Restore, but have no Restore Points to go back to....

and try either of the following links

Line 117 - link on the left hand side
Line 161 - link on the left hand side.

One of those may correct your problem.
