For whatever reason, the shortcut for IE7 under All Programs has gone
missing. How can I restore the shortcut under All Programs? I'm running WinXP
SP2. Thanks. Jeff

Hi,
If using the XP Start Menu, right-click the taskbar> Properties> Start Menu>
Customize> check Show on Start Menu> Internet > IE.

If using the classic Start Menu, right-click the Start Button> Open all
users> Programs. In a separate window, browse to C:\Program Files\Internet
Explorer. Right-click IEXPLORE.EXE, drag it to Programs (in the Start Menu
window) drop it and choose "Create shortcut here."

Hope this helps,
Don

Hello, Your instructions returns IE7 back to the Start Menu which is good but
not to the All Programs menu. Maybe IE7 doesn't show up in the All Programs
menu although Outlook Express does. I'm using Firefox as my main web browser
which perhaps that is affecting something. Jeff.

Hello Don, No, the IE program icon is not under C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Start Menu\Programs. I do have internet explorer installed if you're
wondering. I've actually reinstalled IE7 trying to get the program icon back
to the All Programs menu. No luck. Previously, I had uninstalled IE7 when I
switched to Firefox until I realized I needed IE for Windows Updates which is
where I think I lost the IE icon. I use IE7 for some websites but the only
way I've been able to get IE7 up and running is to click the Windows Update
icon under Start Menu/All Programs then surf to where I want to go. Thanks
for your help. Jeff.

Hi,
Try this...
Go to Add/remove programs> Add/remove Windows components> put a check
by IE. OK your way out. Restart. If IE is already checked, uncheck it,
restart, check it, restart.

It may help to go into "Set program access & defaults" and make IE the
default browser. Restart. Use IE a time or two, then revert to Fx.

You may also have to go into Display properties> Desktop> Customize to check
IE under Desktop icons.

Thanks again. Jeff.
