I recently installed a Belkin KVM Omniview USB switcher
to share a USB wireless keyboard/mouse and the monitor
between two computers. During a Ghost image backup, my
USB wireless keyboard mouse combo wouldn't work, and I
was forced to shut down mid process. After restarting the
PC several times, XP failed to recognize the Belkin Omni-
switch (usually identified as a HID). Reconnecting and
rebooting etc. failed as well to recognition the switch.
So I when I tried to restore the system to a previous
point, I was astounded to find all my previous recovery
points were gone!
What to do next? Everything else seems to work correctly
after I switched the USB keyboard/mouse back directly to
computer.
