I just installed a new printer and when I rebooted the printer was
grayed out, it said port unavailable.

When I investigated further ALL the ports are gone...LPT, IP, COM...the
whole lot.

How do I get them back?

I turned off system restore so that is not an option unfortunately.

Check your device manager to see if Windows recognizes that they are
there (Right-click "My Computer" -> Manage -> Device Manager)

If they aren't then try booting into BIOS Settings and check to see if
they are disabled there.
