I have Windows XP home edition.

After an automatic process of my anti-spyware program, all the links of
windows dissapeared from my computer.

When I try to open any program I have a message saying "windows cannot find
the file *****.lnk choose a file from a list, or try to find the file in the
internet " and the same for every file I try to open.

Also all the icons corresponding to each file has dissapear I just have an
default icon for all.

What can I do to solve this problem?
Thank for your help.

Thank you Will Deny for your answer.
I tried what you told me but it DIDN'T work !!! I don't know what to do !!

In fact I went to doug knox's web page and dowload the file to restore the
link file association and the exe file association.
I included them in the register of my computer.
Everything seemed to work during some minutes, I opened some programs to
check, and everything looked ok.

Then I tried to run my antivirus and it didn't worked. I could open the file
but when I tried to do an scan it did'nt worked.
Then I closed internet explorer, and tried to open it again and it didn't
work...

SO I tried to turn off my computer and restart it again.
It started to close windows and then it completely bloqued during the
process...with the blue screen. Before closing windows.
(since it does that some other times I turned off directly with the button
to make it start again)

It opened windows again...... and I'm in the same situation as BEFORE !!
- no lnk files work
- no . exe file work
- no icons
etc etc
Like if I haven't done anything
what can I do ?
HELP ME PLEASE !!!!
