Whenever I play any games (Direct X based or OpenGL
based), it'll cause the videocard to crash. The computer
hang, restarted by itself, or display an ATI VPU Recovery
message. I'm using ATI RADEON 9700PRO with WINXP, driver
is Catalyst 4.4. I'm certain that the display driver is
working as I've tested it out on a freshly installed
Windows XP machine. On my current machine(which is having
this problem), everything is running smoothly except for
any 3D games. I've tried uninstalling the Graphic
Driver/DirectX 9.0 and reinstalling again, but to no
avail. I suspect that it's gonna be something to do with
the graphic/display component of Windows having faulty to
execute the display driver. How can I find out the
problem and solve it without having to reinstall Windows?
Is there anyway to fix this problem?...Please help

Have you checked the graphic card manufacturer's web site to see if their
support section has any information on this, and perhaps follow the
installation guide with the latest drivers again:
http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/w...=16&submit.y=5
You might also try installing the DirectX 9.0b version from Windows Update.

Try flashing the bios of your system with an updated one,
but make sure it is the correct bios. Sometimes you get
an aplication disk with your motherboard that looks for
bios updates...
