This is weird
I keep (or used to keep) heaps of fonts and icons on a separate drive.
Years of collecting and carefully categorising. (ok I have OFD -obsessive
font disorder my friends call it.They don't know I have OID - {icon
disorder} too)
Before my last XP reinstall onto a new drive I did the usual
moving-copying-backing up malarky as I has done many times before. I have 4
drives. Nothing seemed wrong.
Now I find all files named ico or ttf have disappeared from the hundreds of
separate folders they were in. (boo hoo)
All I have left are a few .otfs and icon librarys.
How the hell does this happen?

Open Windows Explorer.
Tools/Folder options
Click on the 'View' tab
In the 'Advanced settings' box:
Check 'Show hidden files and folders
Uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types' and
uncheck 'Hide protected operating system files'

Now click the 'Apply' and 'OK' buttons
Close Explorer and then open a new Explorer windows.

Thanks guys but there would be no reason for the system to hide only ico and
ttf files.
They are gone.
But then again, why would only those be selectively deleted.
Stranger than strange.
Any other ideas?
