All Folders Empty

This afternoon my new Dell PC was delivered. I started up Microsoft Mail and
imported all of my old folders from Outlook 6. I configured my account and
easily connected to my mail server and downloaded 100 messages. I went in
and started reading the first couple of messages and sent some outgoing mail.
I then tried to move one of my Inbox mail messages to one of my Imported
Folders. I kept getting an error message that this could not be done. I
figured that I had to restart Mail, so I shut it down and reopened it.

When I opened my inbox there is (99) messages showing as unread but when I
click on the folder, I get "Folder could not be displayed. Windows Mail could
not open this folder". When I click on all of my folders, I receive the same
message.

I then tried to Send/Receive (which worked before) and I now get "An unknown
error has occurred. Protocol: POP3, Port: 0, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number:
0x800C0148".

I am using Windows Mail version 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205) and I
am dead in the water! Anyway to solve this?

Thanks Much

Turn off email scanning of your antivirus: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

Then try removing your mail account, closing and opening WinMail, and then
add it back again and see if that fixes it.

can see the files in Local Folders as 0 unread and 545 sent ect. but nothing

Go to Tools | Options | Maintenance | Advanced | Store Folder to find the
message
store location. Then move everything under that Windows Mail directory to
another directory. Then restart WinMail and it will open fresh with nothing
in the database. You can then add your accounts and if they work correctly
then you can use File | Import | Messages and choose WinMail format and
point to the directory to which you moved the files.

I had exactly the same problem, Becky. Solution for me: Uninstall McAfee.
Your mileage may vary...
