Approximately 1/4 of the time when I try to make a dial-up modem connection,
instead of getting through to the ISP, I get an "all devices connected"
message, and I'm not connected.

What's going on and how do I fix it?

Thanks

could be your driver.
since Microsoft is always revising
the system with updates, you may
also need to update the driver for the
modem. hopefully, it has not become
suddenly incompatible.

one test you might try is to boot
up to safemode w/networking and
see if the issue exists in this mode as
well.....

For corporate legal advice regarding the EULA for XP, check with a lawyer
qualified in corporate law.

ISPs have a finite number of internal connections. Your
dial up was answered, but could not complete the internal
connection and returned the message. "all devices
