Machine running XP + SP2.

Installed Cd creator and Direct CD - then I uninstalled
it coz XP said it didn't like it all that much. It wasn't
kidding! Now the machine refuses to recognise any drive
other than the HDD.

I'm kinda desperate now, coz I've been thru the posts
that appeared to be relevant nd nothings working.

If I format the HDD (which preumably isn't going to b
easy with no cd drive) will that fix the problem - i.e
will the installation disk run in the CD?
