One of my Pc running on Win2k Pro in the network is not
taking the IP from DHCP server,it takes a IP add of its
own 169.254.20.85 Subnet 255.255.0.0.
When i try to renew the ip(ipconfig/renew)it gives a
message
"The following error occurred when renewing adapter loacl
area connection: An operation was attempted on something
taht is not a Socket".

Can anyone please help me out with this,anysuggestion i
would appreciate it.Thanks

it almost sounds like the network cable is disconnected or
bad, the NIC is bad, or where the cable connects into your
switch/hub is bad or the switch/hub needs restarted?
