Is there a limit on the number of cname records/aliases that can point to
the same A record(our router). we have 1 A record for our router and would
like to point our ftp ,mail and intranet then map thru firewall to proper
host.
Is there a better method?

thanks

Cnames are OK so long as the "A" record is located in the same domain. If
the Cname points to an "A" record in a different domain, it requires an
extra lookup to get the address.
