I noticed after a recent Windows XP update, "alg.exe"
running on my system... but can find no mention of what
it is or why it's running....

Have you tried an Internet search engine, like Google or MSN?

Thanks - makes sense now as I also enabled the Internet
Connection Firewall for Windows XP following the
upgrade... Dan

That is way too cumbersome and takes so long.....
Google found the answer in an agonizing 0.25 second!
