If the TaskBar is anywhere except at the bottom of the
screen the AntiSpyware alerts just fly up the screen and
disappear. I assume that this is a known problem and be
fixed for the production version.

Yes, it is a known issue and will be fixed, for the time being, you just
have to place the taskbar back at the bottom and accept the notifications.
