Sometimes it is very difficult to follow up our email message that was sent
out to our colleagues.
It might be we have forgotten that we have request something on the email
that we sent out.
Is there any way to setup alert for the email that was sent and never got
any reply from the recipient?

How can you test for something that doesn't exist?

Outlook doesn't support anything like that, and I'm not aware of any
third-party utilities that will track messages you sent and determine if any
replies have come back.

Currently we just use a project tracker which is a small database with forms
we enter data into whenever something is done on a project, and it's
revisited every few days to see where a project stands. If the last item is
"Emailed so-and-so requesting this information" and there's nothing after it
then it's time to harrass them.

Prior to this at my previous job however I'd just use my Tasks in Outlook to
track this information. Of course the method you use is only effective if
you use it.

I would like to see a filter that identifies messages that you have sent out to a recipient where that recipient has sent no emails back to you since the send date of the message.

It wouldn't be perfect but it would catch the vast majority of unreplied info requests.

Any gifted filter writers out there that would know how to do that?

So, you expect Outlook to keep a running timer for each recipient address
you have used? How would that be practical to implement?

No not a timer on every recipient: What I'm thinking of is a filter/Search Folder that will return only emails sent to recipients who's most recent return email is older than the sent email. Once every recipient of an email has responded with something more recent than the send date of the original email, the original email would be filtered out. What would also be cool is if the emails were grouped by the first recipient who had not yet replied (and had therefore triggered the email being left in by the filter).

Whereas a timer on every recipient is not reasonable, I think comparing the date of the last email received from someone to the date of the sent email is a lot less complicated and quite probably doable. Although it may need a little VB code.

C'mon Brian, I bet you can do it.

I have no doubt you're as proficient at coding in Outlook as I.
