Does anyone know if there is anything in XP or other program that sets an
alarm? (computer sound at a certain time in the future)

If you are looking for a reminder/sticky notes type program,
www.notesholder.com has a nice freebie.

Do a search at www.google.com, you'll find plenty.

C/Net Downloads has quite a few great programs that can be used as alarms
and/or to run a program or pop up a message on the screen at a preset time.

Thanks for all those suggestions. I just need something that will alert me
to upcoming appointments, and should find something here.

MS Media Plus! edition includes an Alarm Clock. Have been using it for
about a year now and find it helpful. Can schedule alarms as one time only
or indefinitely at repeated intervals. Also can be configured to play a
sound on the hour.
