i need to set an alarm an windows does almost everything i
need so i was wondering if there is a way to have an alert
go off when i need it to

Do a Google search for "alarm clock" and you will find many available
programs. Many of them free.

Hi Dave,

You will also find one in WMP Plus! add-on:

Not cheap, though.
