videowave 8, studio 9-10, Nero 7

all the above that I've found are incompatible with the aiw9800, and theyall force the same problem. They kill the ATIMMC. turn the TV on, and itpops up an error after running for a few secs. blasted thing works whilethe errors there.

I would say I know more about the problem than ATI or any of these companies. since none of them have a clue why it's happening, or haven't released a fix.

Videowave -6 works. studio 7 works. Nero 6 works. I tried the newest catalyst. What's that all about. constant recording and no way to turn itoff ? What were they thinking ?

Same here...

I got so sickin tried of going back 'n fore with ATI tech support and RMA's.

I just dumped all my ATI cards out to the garbage. I went with the other
video card makers and bought a seperate TV tuner card "NOT ATI".

That solved my problem...

You didn't say if the programs I mentioned were causing the problem.

Not sure what your problem is. Maybe a little more detail about the error
message. I've used Studio9+ with MMC 9.08 with out a problem. So far I've
not noticed an interaction with MMC 9.13 Looks like enough people are having
problems with 9.13 you should use the cat-uninstaller and go back to 9.08(or
9.06 if your using Guide+) until you figure it out.

I no longer upgrade ATI. I've stayed with the original 8.5 CD. I've been having these problems with ATI for nearly 2 years. The 8.5 is stable. it's when newer stuff like the above 3 get installed that it craps out.

I got what I assumed to be the newest tech 2 years back. At that time it was easily 6 months ahead of most software. That breathing room didn't last as long as it should.

If you don't have the problem, you have a fix [maybe]. But if it involvesupgrading to a newer buggier catalyst, I'll pass.
I've tried all the catalysts. It gets real old having to reformat and reinstall the OS because the catalyst screws up everything with an upgrade.

The question is, do you have these 3 programs installed and a stable ATI 9800 ?

I have a an AIW 9600XT and an HDTV Wonder. The multimedia part of the Radeon
AIWs are the same. The only difference having a 9800 would be if the extra
power draw was showing you have a weak power supply. If all 3 programs have
to be installed I don't see how you can think ATI is responsible for
whatever you load into your computer. Uninstall them, run the Cat
uninstaller, reinstall the ATI drivers and software. Once it's running ok
install the other programs one at a time until you find the problem. I've
never had to reformat to get the Cats or MMC installed. I've been running
this setup for 18months+. Enough people, myself included, are having
problems with 9.13 so it's probably best to stay away from it. I had no
problems with my AIW on any of the MMC 9.01(came with HDTV Wonder) to 9.08
with the exception of the Guide+ problem of 9.08.
If you want help you need to state exactly what the error message(s) say.
You really can't expect anyone to have exactly the same setup let alone
programs you have. BTW it would be good to post your system specs and
whether or not you have the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your M/B.
