AIW 9600 drivers, FM sound

Have tried to update Catalyst and drivers for AIW 9600. After removing old
drivers and installing new, I find the FM tuner starts very staticky when
opened....when I close the FM tuner program, the FM stays on and becomes
quite clear, but cannot be turned off.

Is this a known problem? Any recommendations on fixing it?

Thanks

I have an AIW 9600XT. I kept faithfully updating drivers and
MultiMedia Center every time new versions were released. Noticed my
video became jerky. Odd. I could record and when I'd play back
everything looked normal, but there was jerkiness when I was just
watching TV. So a new driver version was released and I updated again.
Still jerky, but now the AIW software would crash when I changed video
input. So I uninstalled everything and installed older drivers -- I
installed drivers and MMC I had been using before all the so-called
updates. And guess what -- everything works great again! I recommend
you roll back and see if your problem goes away. Apparently, with ATI
if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Hello again, Bill. The reason your video was jerky with the newer drivers is
because ATI, in all their wisdom, decided that On Demand Recording should be
on at all times with no way to turn it off.

Here's what I'd do in escalating order:

1. Repair install of MMC.

2. Remove ATI drivers in Sound, Video and Game section of Device Manager.
Then reboot and let Windows reinstall them. Repeat step 1. This fixed a
similar problem with the TV in my system recently.

3. Hopefully it won't come to this. Uninstall everything ATI. Run
CatUninstaller then reinstall everything starting with the WDM drivers(per
driver notes). Install items on MMC page in the order they appear on page.

Good Luck!
