AIT Tape won't mount using MSBackup

I have an AIT-1 IDE Tape drive and am using MSBackup to
restore my previous Windows setup. The task list in
Computer Mgmnt. just shows an hrglass icon and a long wait
time. What do I need to update in order to get the tapes
to mount to the subsystem?
