AIM working but not Firefox

I just got rid of a nasty little virus called Recycler. The thread about the problem is here: http://www.pcreview.co.uk/forums/thread-3739132.php

Anyways, for some reason now, my browsers can't connect to the internet, yet other programs such as skype and aim connect. It's not our network, as my roomates computer works. I tried pinging google and it came back as not being able to connect.

Any suggestions?
