AHCI and eSATA

Hi All,

After I get my motherboard's BIOS into AHCI mode
and get the correct drivers loaded into XP,
will eSATA drives act like USB thumb drives?
(Eject by pressing the green arrow, etc.)

If they are set up as 'optimise for fastest speed' then: yes, you need to
stop them before removal. If they are set up as 'optimise for fast removal'
then: no. The XP default for removeable drives should be the latter (but
some OEM suppliers change this).
