Agp 4x and Upgrading

Just wondering:
I currently have a Dell 2.8ghz, 1 gig Ram and a 9800 pro. Unfortunately the
system only has a 4x agp slot. I upgraded from a G4 Ti4400 to the 9800 pro and
the difference was incredible.

What I want to do now is to upgrade again to a X800 pro. The question is, will
I have too much of a bottleneck because of the 4x agp slot or do you think Ill
still see some good performance gains..
Thank you......

Try reading the last thread "Can AGP handle it...?" let alone the
other hundreds of times the same question has been asked.

So I guess the answer is.......4x isnt even close to being saturated
yet........Thanks Andrew for your bright cheery attitude to a harmless
question.

With the 4x limitation of your motherboard you will be wasting Half of the
speed of the 9800 8x.

In article <CYUid.2247$5K2.447@attbi_s03>, DaveW says...

ROFLMAO. Seeing as the bandwidth on 4X AGP isn't even close to being
fully utilised even on Doom3 with a GF6800 Ultra then the fact you're
using an 8x card with a GPU that will crap out on long before you get
above 4x AGP means that it doesn't really matter much does it?
