I've had a stable XP system for around 2 years, lately I
had problems with a dissapearing CD/RW and system restore
issues. So I decided to format my C:\ and copied
everything worht keeping over to my 2nd slave hdd
In doing so, now, I've reinstalled XP, clean boot so I
have a fresh system, i've updated al the updates.
I have ht eCD/RW back. yipee.
But now XP won't recognise my video card GE Froce 440 MX
nor my Sound Card - Sound Blaster Audigy.
Removing/uninstalling from Device Manager, is achieving
nothing a reboot comes back with an unknown PCI card etc
blah blah blah.
I've swapped all the cards about in the various slot.
Still no difference.
I love XP as an operating system, and when it works, it
works well. But I relaly drawing blanks right now.
Will have a scan thru this newsgroup.. but thought I'd
post here, as I'm away on business for the next couple of
days and it would be nice to come back to a solution
after a stressful 36 hours of my drawing blanks.
