I lost everything in Outlook, which is what I feared, when I was forced to
repair Word. Detect and repair "repairs" everything, but eliminated all of
the information I had in Outlook, contacts, email accounts, etc. Out of
desparation I tried system restore but it didn't help with Outlook and I
haven't checked yet, but would guess the problems came back with Word. Funny
how that works.

Is there any way to get the Outlook stuff back? AND is there any way to
Repair just the program with the problems????

Is this one more reason to wish I had a mac?

The software you use has little to do with the hw its run on.
Repairing office should have had no impact on your OL data, unless perhaps
you had a problem with OL
Search to include hidden for *.pst, then in OL File>Open>Data
File......browse to the location

Found the files. They are operational files. Any suggestions for someone who
doesn't know what this is or what to do with it?
