I don't run AVG and all MyDoom's intrusions (so far) have been caught by my
ISP or by Norton Antivirus. So I can't follow all your narrative or advise
what to do about that.
But, the "gapi32.dll" problem is quite familiar. I had to deal with it
myself and I've seen many others who were worried about it. The good news
is that it's benign. Just a nuisance that nobody's bothered to fix although
it has been known for years.
