After MY_DOOM file missing, programs freezing

I have zone alarm and it was asking to let Explorer to
access the internet, which didn't make sense to me so I
denied it access. This made me curious and I ran AVG-6 and
it found a virus(2)and could only remove one. I updated
the AVG-6 and it showed MY-DOOM A&B. I used a removal tool
from f-secure.com to remove the code AVG couldn't and had
AVG remove the other half. Further scans show me to be
virus free. Now the problem, some programs are locking up.
Windoctor says : missing file"C:\WINNT\System32
\MAPISRVE.exe" this file cannot access a necessary
file, "gapi32.dll". When MY-DOOM was removed this file
must have been removed with it. QUESTION, how do I get and
reinstall this file to it's correct place. Can anyone HELP?
Thank you
Doc

Hi, Doc.

I don't run AVG and all MyDoom's intrusions (so far) have been caught by my
ISP or by Norton Antivirus. So I can't follow all your narrative or advise
what to do about that.

But, the "gapi32.dll" problem is quite familiar. I had to deal with it
myself and I've seen many others who were worried about it. The good news
is that it's benign. Just a nuisance that nobody's bothered to fix although
it has been known for years.

See this KB article:
Error Message: <Systemroot>\System32\Mapisrvr.exe Cannot Access a Necessary
File, "Gapi32.dll"
