I had this problem too. I had to completely remove Office 2007 and
re-install it with SP1 to recover and make it work with exchange.
Subsequently, I installed Vista SP2 (x64) before re-installing Office 2007
SP2. I'm now able save calendar items. I'm using the same Office 2007 SP2
installer package I used before. The package searches for updates before
installing, so perhaps it installed a solution, or maybe it's related to
installing Vista SP2 first.
