Hi

Try this:

From Start>Run type in

control userpasswords2

then uncheck 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this
computer' and click 'Apply'. On the next screen - 'Automatically Log On' -
delete the name 'Administrator' from the User name box and enter your
account name and then the password in the next two boxes. OK your way out
and then reboot your system.

If you have TweakUI highlight "Logon" in the tree and uncheck "show ASPNET
on welcome screen".

It will then revert to bypassing the welcome screen if there is only one
account on the machine and it has no password.

get tweakUI here: [EVERYONE should have this!]

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/p.../powertoys.asp

get the right one: the above is ONLY if you have SP1 installed.
go here for a powertoy FAQ and a link to the pre-SP1 version:
