After install SP2 icons have changed to generic .exe icon

After installing SP2 the icons for several applications,
including all MS Office apps, have changed to generic .exe
icons.

Even after associating file types with application the
icon remains the same.

Hi Deb, you could try:
Right click on the desktop, select Properties, Appearance, Advanced. Now using the
item drop down box, choose Icon. Change the pixel number by one. OK all the way out.
