Got new XP computer today; old XP crashed. Now when I forward or reply to an
email, the old message remains on the screen. This does not happen when
sending new messages.

How can I get the old message to leave the screen once an email is forwarded
or a reply sent?

Just found the answer myself. In Outlook, click Tools, Preferences, Email
Options; click on Close original message on reply or forward.
