Last night I accidently kicked out the plug from myPC... I am running Win XP
prof., after that I rebooted the sysem and now I get this unusall thing
happening...My system is trying to insall some fax software that I don't know
if I ever had, now that has stopped it is trying to install some photo
gallery software...My system keeps on looking for the installation disc
and/or asking me to locate it on my hard drive.
I can't stop this install, everytime I boot my system there it is.
How do I stop this?...I want to permanently disable this install.
Thanks
Herman

most of the time when
the pc abruptly looses
power,

and the cpu was not idle
at the time,

then a check disk is
usually required

my suggestion is to boot
up with a xp cd, launch
the recovery console and
run the commands:

fixboot
chkdsk /f

then exit, remove cd
and see if the issue
resolves itself.

Windows Installer runs on every reboot - why?
http://ask-leo.com/windows_installer...eboot_why.html

Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove Office 2000, Office XP,
or Office 2003

chkdsk /f
chkdsk /r
chkdsk /p
chkdsk (with no switch)

or check disk via the
recovery console

or check disk via
the explorer.....

the only thing that is
100% is your rudeness.

you're more of a
smart as* rather than
