most of the time when
the pc abruptly looses
power,
and the cpu was not idle
at the time,
then a check disk is
usually required
my suggestion is to boot
up with a xp cd, launch
the recovery console and
run the commands:
fixboot
chkdsk /f
then exit, remove cd
and see if the issue
resolves itself.
