My computer crashed while running a windows update.
The crash problem is fixed (hardware config issue).
However, every time I try to download and install an ie6 update it would go
through the download and install (very slowly) and then end with a fail to
install message.

I uninstalled ie6 using control panel, then re-installed it again. The
result is the same.
Is there a solution short of reinstalling the entire window XP?
