AFT Card Reader Problem

I have a new AFT ProGear card reader that won't seem to
work with XP Home. I have SP1, so I don't think the USB
drivers are a problem, and the device works with Win98SE
on another computer. I know my BIOS is recognizing the
device, because it checks it for a boot record. In fact,
the blue light on the device is on until the WIN XP
welcome screen comes up and then the light goes out. (I
have a DFI motherboard, if that matters.) Thanks for any
help you can give!
