Hi,

My computer is infected by adware/spyware which makes it
impossible to work. I keep getting alerts that the computer
is infected and then a request to download software that
will fix the problem. Because this happens every half minute
or more often the screen becomes filled up with these ads / dialog boxes and
the overall performance is very low. I have even
difficulties to switch off / start the computer.
I have tried to get rid of this malware by using products
from SpyDoctor, AVG and ZoneAlarm but without any success.
Can some kind soul give me advice on how to proceed and recommend software
that is powerfull enough to cope with
this problem.

Thank You,

Martti

I recommend downloading and running HijackThis:

http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php

and posting the log to an appropriate forum, such as:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/forum22.html

Here's a helpful tutorial:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tuto...utorial42.html

If you'd rather use HijackThis as a last resort, post back here with
specific information, such as the exact wording found in these "alerts"
and perhaps someone here can provide a specific antidote for your
specific infection.

Finally, note that according to:

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm

SpyDoctor uses "false positives work as goad to purchase" its product;
it is considered a rogue application. Uninstall it!

That's just a message from some spyware you have installed.

AVG is NOT the best anti-spyware app. ZA is NOT an anti-spyware app. at
all.

Try some of the utils on:
