hey,
I've got internet explorer 6 on windows xp and for the last 2 days or
so my internet explorer has been absolutely bombarded with adware. These
don't popup in another window however. For example if i got to yahoo.com or
google.com or any site for that matter the site itself will load and the
adware will load up within the same window all over the page. I have
absolutely no idea how to remove it and im in desperate need of help. I've
tried the following things:

1. downloaded windows defender and running a scan but that didn't do
anything because it said the computer was running fine

2. i already have the google toolbar on it and i have pop up blocker enabled
on it. I also checked that the popup blocker within windows was turned on and
it was

3. i increased the security settings through internet options but discovered
that this wasnt going to do much so put the settings back to how they were

4. i tried blocking the individual sites (and i have the website link if
you want me to post it) but blocking them seemed to do absolutely nothing

i have absolutely no idea what else to try or how to solve the issue. Any
help would so greatly be appreciated

Run a /thorough/ check for hijackware, including posting your hijackthis log
to an appropriate forum.

When all else fails, HijackThis v2.0.2
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.exe) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware with

If the procedures look too complex - and there is no shame in admitting this
isn't your cup of tea - take the machine to a local, reputable and
independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA) computer repair shop.
