Hi

Im planning on building myself a new computer and am looking for some advice on components.

I have about £500 to spend and think i have found roughly the right bits...
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400
MotherBoard: Asus P5Q
RAM: OCZ DDR2 2X 1GB
PSU: OCZ Modxstream 500W
GPU: XFX ATI HD4850 512MB
Case: Coolermaster HAf 922

And i will use my current SATA hard drive, and IDE CD/DVD drive

Can someone please check that all of this will work together, and if not what suggestions do you have for something better.

Thanks
Robert

It will all work together, for the budget they're sound choices.

If they're the components you fancy, go for it.

How much does it all come to?

Sounds good to me.

Any particular reasons for choosing those components?

We all have personal preferences, I prefer Nvidia grafix cards at this moment in time for instance but the ATI cards work well and are bargains at the moment.

Nice combination of parts, though you might want to check out the review above and the link below, on the ATI 4770.

I have a preference for Intel and ATI, hence the CPU and GPU
The mother looked good (spec) and seemed to fit okay
I like just like the case, and the RAM and PSu looked like good buys...

The ATI 4770 looks very good, ill look at swapping that instead of the ATI 4850

Has any one ever bought from 'Eclipse Computers' they seem ok and quite competitive, just wounding what there service is like?
