Hi,

I recently had to send back a 6MP Mustek camera as it was faulty to a company called Park Family Hampers, to be honest there customer service left a lot to be desired.

Anyway the point is i'm due to go to Canada in just short of 6weeks, and have decided to buy another digital camera.

My limit is £200, and the camera will have do be able to do the following;
  1. Ideally like one that can take either 1gb or 2gb sd card
  2. Take really good photos (obvious i know)
  3. Movie capture fro when i am skiing, and other movie clips in general
  4. 2.0 LCD screen least
  5. Also a fairly stylish one
The possibility to zoom also for like long distance pictures on the slope would also be great and partly essential, but not sure if i need lots of digital or optical zoom?

So all-in-all i would like a camera that tales great photos and can do really good video, i have found some cameras here, any advice appreciated, especially from Quad

Acer CI-6330 - £89.99 from ebuyer
6.2MP
Video JPG (AVI)
3x optical
4x digital

Canon PowerShot A620 7.4mp - £211.13 also from ebuyer

Sony Cyber-shot DSC-P200 Digital Camera [7MP, 3x Optical Zoom] from amazon

When you buy a camera you not only buy the unit but, software to handle it, reliability of the manufacturer, support, after sales service etc etc. I am not saying that the particular model of Samsung is bad but surely they need a lot of time to establish themselves in the business of Digital Cameras. If you buy from Nikon or Canon there is hardly much to worry about.

Track record is an important consideration. This is my opinion which you asked for. I hope you get the idea.

Jessops seem to sell good cameras, but you could find a decent one and buy on-line?

However up until recently i was still using a trusty Olympus OM10

the sizes represent the number of pixels in each direction

the more pixels the bigger you can print the picture without pixelation (blocky/blurry images)

I'm out of bed and dressed, what more do you want?

I always take life with a grain of salt, ... a slice of lemon, ...and a shot of tequila

I used to have an open mind but my brains kept falling out

One more step to enlightenment ... but which way ?
