Hi,

Outlook 2010 is coming with tons of cool new functionality. However, I am
still seeking for a better way of using existing functionality. Do you have
any ideas if this (see below) is possible also with 2007 (before I will try
to beg Steve Ballmer on my knees to make sure that this functionality will be
given with Outlook 2010 ;-)

I need a rule that ....

a) only moves read emails to a specified folder.
a1) more advandced: only moves read emails to a specified folder, that are 4
weeks old.

b) a rule that runs a set specified rules on one click.

Any idea? Autoarchive would not do it for me (I have subfolders for all
senders in a seperate *.pst)

1) No, since rules are triggered by the send/receive process and does not
act on dormant emails based on a previous received date. You can create a
Search Folder or a separate filtered view of course to easily find these
emails. It probably won't be to hard to do this with VBA as well.

2) No, rules cannot run other rules. What exactly are you trying to achieve
by this? You can select which rules to run manually or use Quick Steps in
Outlook 2010 to string together some commands which will be executed against
the selected email(s).

a. No. There are addins, like Auto-Mate that can do it.

b. No. Outlook 2010 lets you select all rules in one click and if offers
QuickSteps but that is the best you can do.
