hi guys, I recently upgraded to outlook 2007 from 2003 and find annoying
behaviour and hoping one of you have a solution.

question is , when you do ,find related messages or click advanced find ,the
window that comes up only shows criteria boxes not result window.every time I
use this either I've to click maximise button or resize window so that I can
see messages at the bottom.

is there any option somewhere that shows result window also ? outlook 2003
works perfectly by the way .

am using xp sp2 with office 2007 enterprise version. thanks for the advise.

If changing it and closing the Advanced find window doesn't fix it, try
restarting outlook with the /cleanviews switch.

thanks Diane. i finally located outlook.exe and tried that switch. but
unfortunately problem still remains.

interestingly,even before trying above,when I resize the window,if I close
and re-open again window size remains same but tab frame (all those filter
related textbox) extend and fill the whole frame.

I hope you understand what am saying here. but unfortunately I don't see an
option upload image so that I could show you screenshot of this window.

what happens when you actually do a search? the results pane won't display
until you do a search. I did have a problem where the results didn't show -
I had to drag the divider between the top and results to show the results.

I'm pretty sure it stopped after using /cleanviews.

Do you have all the latest updates installed? Which version of WDS do you
use?

am sure I ran /cleanviews after you suggesting it. I just installed ,this
morning, office 2007 sp1 also but makes no different. am running WDS 4 and
file version of windowssearch.exe is 7.0.6001.16503

by the way following is what I ran when you suggested cleanviews
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\outlook.exe" /cleanviews

cheers
